Make Clam Casserole Tonight!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb freshly shucked soft-shelled clams (may substitute oysters)
  • 1/4 cup milk or clam liquor 
  • 3/4 cup coarsely crushed cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 each teaspoon garlic and onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon fresh minced parsley; extra for garnish

Preparation Instructions

Start by combining bread crumbs, garlic and onion powder, paprika, and freshly minced parsley in a small bowl. Butter a casserole dish and spread a layer of crushed crackers, then a layer of clams, and season with salt, pepper, and a few dots of butter. Add a few tablespoons milk or clam liquor so the mixture isn't overly dry.

Baking Directions

Layer until dish is full, ending on a layer of cracker crumbs dotted with butter and paprika. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until the top is golden. remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.
